Stories

Core of Amaterasu

The Core of Amaterasu is an alternate game mode in Dissidia Calamitas Infinita. After the destruction of Helel in the 13th cycle, the world begins to decay as his wife, Amaterasu, slowly stirs from her imprisonment within a huge, sun-like complex crafted to contain her power. Seraphim, taking pity on the abandoned world and the god shackled to it, summons 8 warriors from the previous cycles to defeat Amaterasu before she awakens and devolves into an apocalyptic rage.

Though it retains much of the structure and style of the main game, CoA is unique in that it pits a set group of 8 characters at once against a series of bosses. Rather than focusing on 1v1 strategy, CoA requires coordination between all 8 characters to handle mechanics efficiently. Each boss possesses a unique and dynamic moveset, with abilities that are more competently handled by certain characters than others. CoA thus plays as sort of a hybrid fighter/MMO, as characters' modified DCI ability lists position them as more proficient in certain "roles" than others. Several basic game mechanics are altered from the original game.

DCI 2

Dissidia Calamitas Infinita 2 is a rumored story addition that focuses on the main characters of sequel stories, including Ava Leighson, Alstromya, Ellie Orcus, and Inohime. Gameplay will likely be identical to vanilla DCI, although it is unconfirmed where exactly in the story this game mode will take place.
